I have restarted my old blog from 11 years ago! Wow. I have been using Facebook, but have decided to let that social media self destruct and no longer enjoy what it set out to be. So you can join me at shebrews.com for the newest things I am doing and saying.

I have a new studio now, and I live in a new home in the country which lends itself to long walks and time for thoughts. I have completely changed my medium in which I will demonstrate in the coming posts. I currently have a short version of a blog on a facebook page under Shebrewsart.

It is winter now, so I have been occupied creating one of a kind Christmas ornaments for the season. However, when Christmas is over, I will return to exploring my gel plate and prints and magazine painting.

Go to my facebook page if you are intrigued with my new medium.
See you soon.

I will be starting a new adventure in art. I have to move my studio which is sad because I love it so, and it has all the amenities I want. However, due to circumstances, I will have to sell my house and studio, and so, life goes on.
After some discussion, I have decided to take the door with me for my new studio/office. I now have to decide which medium to focus on, as I will have half the space for supplies and materials. I wonder if this is possible......hahaha.
I hope to keep you up regularly on what I am doing. My first project is to crochet curtains for my new studio. They are really interesting and I will post pictures and process as I go....This will be a great winter project and get me ready for spring.
Until then, keep watching for new developments. Thanks for stopping by. Shebrews/aka/Eydie

Time to Refresh

Well, its hard to believe that summer is over and so are the shows. It was a strange year for me, things going on personally and never feeling like I entered into my art. I did do some new collages that involved newspapers, and maps and repainting the postcard images. I want to do more this winter when I have more time for it. It takes a lot of energy to put these together, and the gathering of special materials that make sense.
I want you to visit me also on my facebook page , as I probably will update that more often. This will let me be a little more in depth than facebook. My address there is Shebrews Art . I think there is a link on the sidebar, though.

I have been collecting images to use for general camping pictures and northwoods adventures.
I will keep you posted on my progress.

Art Impressions for the New Year!

It's actually a compliment when they call you strange, if you are an artist........I guess......or, its strange if they call you an artist.....*shrug*. At any rate, you are always questioning yourself.......*smile*.

I am about to begin working on the summer shows of 2013. It's a little exhilerating, and intimidating at the same time. I know what I want to accomplish, I know where my thoughts are headed, but, art has a mind of its own. It never lets you get away with creating it yourself, it always wrestles away from you and somehow manages to speak for itself.

I have found, for myself, its best to get as messy as possible, and hope that, like a magnetic pull, all things come together to say something, to someone......that a connection is made, in some small way. After all, for me, art is highly emotional, and lacks a heartbeat if it is not.

I hope to allow you a glimpse into this world of mine, where thoughts run amok, and ideas try to find a landing place, but, whatever will be, will be......

Come back and check on me. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Comments are always welcome! Also, visit my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/shebrewsart

Summer Up North

Well, its another weekend in the Northwoods. I will be in Torpey Park on Saturday, even if its raining, unless its monsooning (sp?)...you never know. If you can't make that show, then come to St. Germain on Monday to the Flea Market. It's bound to be okay that day.

I will try post some pics of my work from time to time on this site, as people ask me all the time to do so. If you have a lake/cottage you are interested in me doing, just email me and we can discuss the possibility, whether you have your own pics, or I provide them.

If you haven't yet, join me on Facebook, as I tend to post more often there. I keep the blog for those who do not use Facebook. Thanks for following, and I appreciate the "Likes" I get on Facebook.

Summer is Revving Up It's Engines

I missed the last two St. Germain Flea Markets, and I am sorry if you came looking for me. I will be there on July 2. and all the rest in July, for that matter. I needed the weekend to prepare for the month of July. The good news is, that I will be able to offer pieces that you have not seen before. I am discontinuing my FDC artwork, which are the smaller pieces. I will be offering the 8 X 10 prints at a discounted price from now on until they are gone.

This includes my Wizard of Oz prints, and all the themed prints I have been offering. I decided to start painting again, and want to concentrate on the paintings a little more. I will be combining the paint vignettes and calligraphy and collage work together. I still would like to work with the quilting pieces, and so, I have to give up something.

I have a Facebook page for my art, too. It's called Shebrews Artistic Expressions, if you want to "Like" it.
I keep the blog because not all people are Facebook people.

Thanks for checking in! I will be back soon!
