Summer Up North

Well, its another weekend in the Northwoods. I will be in Torpey Park on Saturday, even if its raining, unless its monsooning (sp?)...you never know. If you can't make that show, then come to St. Germain on Monday to the Flea Market. It's bound to be okay that day.

I will try post some pics of my work from time to time on this site, as people ask me all the time to do so. If you have a lake/cottage you are interested in me doing, just email me and we can discuss the possibility, whether you have your own pics, or I provide them.

If you haven't yet, join me on Facebook, as I tend to post more often there. I keep the blog for those who do not use Facebook. Thanks for following, and I appreciate the "Likes" I get on Facebook.

Summer is Revving Up It's Engines

I missed the last two St. Germain Flea Markets, and I am sorry if you came looking for me. I will be there on July 2. and all the rest in July, for that matter. I needed the weekend to prepare for the month of July. The good news is, that I will be able to offer pieces that you have not seen before. I am discontinuing my FDC artwork, which are the smaller pieces. I will be offering the 8 X 10 prints at a discounted price from now on until they are gone.

This includes my Wizard of Oz prints, and all the themed prints I have been offering. I decided to start painting again, and want to concentrate on the paintings a little more. I will be combining the paint vignettes and calligraphy and collage work together. I still would like to work with the quilting pieces, and so, I have to give up something.

I have a Facebook page for my art, too. It's called Shebrews Artistic Expressions, if you want to "Like" it.
I keep the blog because not all people are Facebook people.

Thanks for checking in! I will be back soon!

Walk in the Woods Art Fair St. Germain

The day begins at 4 am. But we arrive on the spot at 4:58. The moon is still high in the sky and no one is around........

This early sometimes one needs a flashlight to see the numbers. Anne did a great job marking them in bright colors.

We unload as quickly as we can so we can move our vehicle and its not in anyone else's way.

This is where the wine and cheese will be served. The cheese was soooooooooooooo good. Sargento' finest. Made in Antigo, Wisconsin. Wish I could have purchased some, but they were only giving samples.

Alright! The sun is shining bright and people are coming out.

AND I got a surprise visit! Hurray! Thanks friends for coming to see me!

Here We Go!

I am actually pretty excited about our first trip Up North. I have been working really hard at my other job and am in need of a rest....LOL. I am glad that the first showing is going to be a Flea Market/Craft Show, as I can pull everything out that has been stored all winter and see what I have. I have plans to change it up a little this year and do some more painting in my pieces, use more canvas and more originals will be offered.

I started a new thought working with the old resort advertising, and it has done very well.
I have the same spaces at St. Germain that I have had the last three years, so you can easily find me.
May 28- St. Germain Flea Market
June 3-4  Minocqua, Torpey Park
June 5 St. Germain Flea Market
June 9 St. Germain Walk in the Woods
June 11 St. Germain Flea Market

I will post July's schedule nearer to July in a post. See you this weekend, hopefully!!!

Hi Honey, I'm Home!

Well, see how long its been since I have posted. Things should pick up here now. Violet is growing so big and smart and will be a fun companion to be with this summer.
My show schedule will be close to what I posted, with the exception that I won't be doing Artarama in Eagle River this year. I won't be doing Lakewood, nor Cranberryfest in Eagle River in October.
I have plans to paint more with my collages, making them more "one of a kind" and less prints. This may affect my sales dramatically, I don't know. Something always seems to inspire me to do things fresh and original and I am looking forward to studio hours doing that this year.
Here is a painting that I worked on yesterday. It is not done yet, but I will post another pic when I get it done.
I have no idea what to expect this year in sales. I cannot tell the economy and what gas prices might affect those who normally travel during the summer.  First show, St. Germain Flea Market on June 1st. Hope to see you there.
Meanwhile, visit Shebrews Artistic Expressions on Facebook for fast update and I would love to have you like me and post comments.

The Nina Doll

This is a doll that I want to make for my little Violet. I have a whole book of different styles, but I think it would be a fun hobby in all my free time. The instructions are all in Japanese, but, no matter, the drawings are quite detailed. Maybe if I get started I can show you pics as I go.

You are probably wondering where I have been. ........It was a very busy Christmas time because I work at the Kristmas Kringle Shoppe. I love, love, love all the sparkly, pretty things. I mainly do personalizing on the ornaments, but, working with the product is also something I really enjoy.

The show applications have been pouring in. We have made a decision to cut way back this year. It will look something like this:

Minocqu- June 3
St. Germain June 9
Arbor Vitae July 7
Artarama July 14
Land O Lakes July 22
St. Germain July 31
Mercer August 1
Minocqua August 2
St. Germain August 6
Green Lake August 11-12
Eagle River August 15
Wales August 18
All these are tentative, and I will re-affirm them as I get them out. I have significantly cut back on shows. I will not be doing as many Flea Markets in St. Germain as I have the past couple of years. Things just are not what they used to be, and I must pick the very best to go to this year.

I need to take some time to play with my new grand-daughter, Violet.
